Socializing Online

Socializing once upon a time meant meting new people at parties or get-togethers and get close to them, have a nice time with them around. But now with the Net catching up and giving whole new definitions to everything we have known so far even social gatherings are becoming a thing of the past. The scores of social networking sites that have come up has led to people being glued to the Internet day and night and even making new friends everyday. They come across people separated across continents whom they view through the virtual world. And what do they see? Whatever the person on the other end wants them to see. It’s so easy to say “It’s fun to meet new people, to know things from scratch and get together.” But in reality what you see is not the truth. The scariest part of finding company online is: nothing is what it seems to be. Well isn’t that what virtual actually means. And still even after years of hearing stories many don’t learn. They make mistakes again and find themselves in trouble. It’s all nice to have some fun, to hang out, meet new people, freak around. But make sure you know your limits. Know where to put the full stop.
